Who are we, and what do we have to offer?

We are a community of volunteer Coaches, fully accredited through the International Coaching Federation. In addition to a coach specific training and significant coaching experience, we adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, and we have made a personal commitment to this project and our continued professional development.

We offer up to six (6) hours of pro bono coaching to every qualified participant.

What is coaching?

Coaching has become pretty popular in the last couple of years, but there are still a lot of misconceptions out there. So what is it? The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines it as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential”. In simple terms, and in our current context, it means that we want to offer you a safe space:

  • to process your experience of these last couple of weeks and months
  • to feel heard, seen and validated
  • to explore new ways of looking at your reality and challenges
  • to reconnect with your values and what gives you a sense of purpose
  • to boost your own creative resources and imagine a way forward
  • to develop emotional and mental resilience to become a life skill
  • to explore anything else you feel is important to you.

Your coach will guide you through this process by listening, asking questions, making observations, and providing a safe and supportive environment where these topics can be discussed with no prejudice. But keep in mind that you remain “in the driver’s seat” at all times.

Got it! But how does this actually work in practice?

First, you will have an opportunity to review the profiles of participating coaches on the WeWent platform. On the platform search the keyword "Coaches4heroes" or choose the event category "ICF Coaches 4 Heroes" Read the descriptions carefully, to select the person who seems the best fit for you.

Your first interaction with your coach is called a “chemistry call”. It’s an opportunity for you to ask any questions you’d like to the Coach - about their background, experience, approach, values, etc. Your Coach will also ask some questions to you, to assess if this could be a good mutual fit.

If the first meeting is successful, you will agree with your Coach on the modalities of the rest of the coaching: start date, frequency of sessions, area(s) of focus, technology, etc. If you wish, you can contact up to 2 other coaches before making your final decision.

After the initial chemistry call, you will have up to 6 hours of individual coaching, to be used within a period of 12 months before April 30th, 2021. New clients’ contracts will be accepted until February 28th, 2021, to be able to offer the 6 free coaching sessions by the end of the project.

All sessions will take place virtually. You will discuss with your selected Coach what modality works for both of you (e.g. phone, Skype, Zoom, Hangout, WhatsApp, etc.)

All the sessions are free of charge.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that all our participating Coaches are volunteers. They are graciously offering their time and expertise. Please be respectful by being on time and giving them at least 24-hour notice in case of rescheduling or cancellation. If you want to stop your coaching engagement before its planned completion, you can do so at any time, but we ask you to connect with your coach to find a resolution that honours you, your Coach, and the Coaching relationship.

You will be redirected to the WeWent platform where ICF coaches already filtered for you.
